Perfect Peanut Butter Cookie Recipe
If you’re looking for the perfect peanut butter cookie recipe, look no further. My husband loves a thick, yet soft and chewy cookie – so I was on a mission to find and perfect the peanut butter cookie early in our marriage. I tweaked a recipe early on and it has been my reliable go to. I’ve given this recipe out to more people than I can remember! I hope you enjoy it as well (also very tasty with peanut butter or chocolate chips added!).
Ingredients
- ½ cup butter (softened)
- ½ cup butter Crisco
- 1 cup brown sugar
- ½ cup sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- 2¾ cup flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 heaping cup of creamy peanut butter
Instructions
- Combine flour & baking powder in a small bowl with a whisk and set aside.
- Mix softened butter and shortening together in large bowl (I use my Kitchenaid)
- Add sugar, brown sugar, salt & vanilla
- Add each egg separately until creamy
- Mix in peanut butter
- Add flour mixture a little at a time until mixed thoroughly
- Refrigerate 1 - 3 hours covered
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees
- Gently fork the peanut butter cookies when on cookie sheets
- Bake 10 - 12 minutes - when you see golden tips
