Spa Sleepover Birthday Party: Food & Decorations

spa sleepover party

Through the fall and winter, I always plan three “boy” birthday parties…and they are all boy!  That made it even more fun to play an oh-so-girly “Spa Sleepover Birthday” for my daughter and her friends as she turned 9 this summer.  They’re right on that line between little girls and starting to grow up…and that’s about where the feel of the party was too.  They hung out, watched a movie, swam, and danced to their favorite music, but we also added a few “spa” elements that were a lot of fun (more about those tomorrow!).

pink zebra party packWe were so excited as we started looking for ideas when we found really cute pink zebra-print spa party plates.  I got a “party pack” which included dinner plates, dessert plates, cups, napkins, a tablecloth, and plasticware for $9.99—easy and the price was right!  It also helped us select our colors for the party.  A few more balloons and streamers, and we were good to go.

For dinner, we opted to keep it simple, with pizza, fresh fruit & veggies, and chips & dip…classic sleepover food (and easy prep after this mama had spent the whole week working!) 🙂  That allowed me to focus my energy on the Marshmallow Nail Polish Cupcakes that we had for dessert–get step by step directions for how to make those HERE.

Popcorn containers

I grabbed some cute cardboard popcorn containers from the dollar store for snack time during the movie.  At 6/$1, they were a cheap way to make the popcorn more fun.

Breakfast everyone’s favorite–delicious and so much fun!  We made homemade Belgian waffles with a variety of toppings, and the girls were able to create their own breakfast masterpieces.  Toppings included syrup, strawberries, bananas, blueberries, mini chocolate chips, warm Nutella, and whipped cream.   Some of their concoctions were pretty impressive!

Hope you enjoy the Spa Sleepover party series–be sure to check out the rest of our Birthday Party ideas HERE, and don’t forget to Pin this for future use!
