Lunchbox Makeover: Fruit-Infused Water

fruit infused water

If you’re looking for an alternative to drink boxes or juice boxes for lunches, look no further!  Here’s an idea I stumbled across recently, and I think it makes a tasty, frugal, and healthy  beverage to send in your kids’ lunches.  Fruit-infused water is so simple, but it gives plain H2O a little extra kick, and it’s not full of sweeteners or artificial flavors.  The possibilities are endless, so experiment with the kids to find out what they like best.  Pack it in a simple, resealable water bottle, and they’re ready to rehydrate with a little extra flavor at lunch time or any time!

Fruit-Infused Water
Ingredients
  • Pitcher of water
  • Fruit of your choice: berries, peaches, lemons, oranges, limes, and more!
Instructions
  1. Fill a pitcher with water.
  2. Add the fruit of your choice. Berries can go in whole, others can be sliced. Fresh picked mint can also be added.
  3. Store in the refrigerator, adding more water to the pitcher as needed after water is served. Fruit will last for a few days kept cold in the water.

What else do your kids like to take to drink in their lunches?  Please share in the comments!
