Lake Erie Monsters Ticket Giveaway!

 Lake Erie Monsters

While Sara and her family were at Castaway Bay, my family and I had the opportunity to check out a Lake Erie Monsters hockey game at Quicken Loans arena.  If your family has been enjoying winter sports on the Winter Olympics, they’d really enjoy seeing a hockey game in person at the Q!

We attended a Friday night game, and we found it to be geared toward families.  Ticket prices start at $10 each.  Fridays are also Dollar Dog and Dollar Drink nights, featuring hot dogs and fountain drinks for just $1 each (a major bargain when you consider the usual cost of feeding a family at a game!).  On the concourse, there are plenty of fun things for kids to do, including face painting, hair spray in the Monsters’ team colors, and making signs to cheer on the team (and hopefully get spotted by the camera to be televised on the big screen).  The kids also enjoyed seeing the mascot and checking out some real hockey gear.

Aside from all the “extras,” the kids also really enjoyed the game.  Once they figured out what was going on (that it was kind of like soccer, but on ice, and with a puck…), they were able to follow the game and cheer on the team.  My seven-year-old (who’s normally one of the most gentle, kindhearted kids you’d ever meet) really got into it and yelled “Slam him into the wall!”  We laughed so hard about that!  I guess hockey will do that to even the most gentle spirits!

We were a little spoiled this time around, as we had the opportunity to share one of the suites with some other local bloggers and their families.  The kids’ eyes were as wide as saucers when they saw the baskets of snacks waiting for us at the bar overlooking the rink.  What a treat!  I made sure to point out the rest of the seats, where we’ll sit the next time we come 🙂

The Monsters’ hockey season runs through mid-April.  There are lots of promotions available throughout the season, including giveaways, discounts, and more.  They include:

  • College ID Nights every weekday (Tuesday – Thursday): Receive $6 tickets with a valid college ID or $5 tickets valid RTA fare card or UPASS sticker along with college ID at the Quicken Loans Arena Box Office
  • Thirsty Thursday: Fans can enjoy $2 14 ounce select draft beers and $5 Monster Margaritas during every Thursday night home game
  • Dollar Dog & Dollar Soda Nights every Friday night: Hot dogs and 16-ounce sodas are just one dollar each
  • Postgame Skates following every Friday night home game. Skates are available to rent for a $3 donation to the Monsters Community Fund (while supplies last)
  • Military Discount: Receive $5 tickets (select locations) with a valid Military ID at the Quicken Loans Arena Box Office

I’m so excited that one of you will win a four pack of tickets to the game on Friday, March 7 at 7:30! That’s a Sock Giveaway night, and it’s another Dollar Dog night, so go a little early and grab dinner at the Q!  If you’re able, plan to stay after the game for the free Postgame Skate (bring your own skates, or rent them there).  For more information about the Lake Erie Monsters, or to order tickets, check out the Lake Erie Monsters web site.
