Taking dinners to new parents or those who are recovering from hospitalization or surgery can be a real blessing during a challenging time. Having been on the receiving end of meals from church members and other friends when my youngest two boys were born, I can tell you first hand how wonderful it was to know that dinner would arrive at our door every other evening for the first few weeks of their lives!
Having also been on the planning end of meal delivery coordination, the organization part can be time-consuming and difficult. When a friend shared this site last night, I had to pass it along. Take Them a Meal allows you to set up a schedule and inform volunteers of likes/dislikes, food allergies, and any other notes. Then volunteers can just sign into the site, pick a day, and even see what others are bringing so you don’t get two back-to-back meals of meatloaf.
Yet another idea that on hindsight I say “Why didn’t I think of that?!” but I thought this one was incredibly useful.
What’s your go-to dish to bring to others? Mine are stuffed shells or soup with homemade bread!
