One way to save money on family outings is to find FREE or inexpensive local events and activities.  The month of June is full of FREE events.  Review the list below and mark them down your calendar.

FREE Canton First Friday – Chalk the Walk Enjoy an evening full of art, live music, street performers, great food and more! This month’s theme is Chalk the Walk.
Walk through the Canton Arts District and observe and enjoy the creations of various chalk artists.
The night is filled with activities including: FREE showing of “The Lorax” at The Canton Palace Theatre, lots of musical performances, belly dancing demonstrations, Elvis impersonators, and much more. FREE AFC Soccer Clinic in Parma In order to encourage the love of soccer, AFC is offering FREE soccer clinics for the community taught by the coaches and players from the AFC Cleveland Soccer Team. Every child that attends the clinic will receive a free t-shirt and a ticket to an AFC Cleveland home game. FREE Farm & Garden Day at Garfield Park Nature Center There will be children’s activities, farm animals, and more. Head out to Garfield Park and Nature Center learn all about farming and gardening. FREE Moonlight Bike Ride and Campfire Enjoy a 10-mile family-friendly bike ride on the Ohio & Eric Canal towpath ride followed by a campfire. Please note that helmets and bike lights are required. FREE Lake Erie Family Fest at the Lake Erie Nature & Science Center The Family Fest at Lake Erie Nature Center is jam packed with activities including, the great duck race, kayaking, interactive fishing demonstrations, arts & crafts, historical reenactments, animal encounters, astronomy presentations, and much more. Hot Air Balloon Festival (FREE) – Coshocton County Fairgrounds The Balloon Festival is full of family friendly entertainment. FREE Parade the Circle in University Circle Head out to Circle Village and enjoy food, activities and entertainment for all ages. Plan to be there at noon to watch the parade which consists of bright costumes, giant puppets, stilt-dancers, handmade masks, and colorful floats.
