Still looking for something to do to ring in the new year? Here are a few ideas from our fantastic group of Sisters and Misters on Facebook!
Celebrate Early: Several places are hosting “Noon Year’s Eve” celebrations for kids and their families. These take place earlier in the day with a countdown to noon instead of midnight 🙂 Fellow Sisters suggested the celebrations at the Cleveland Zoo, Hudson Library, Pump it Up in Hartville, Toledo Zoo, and the Cuyahoga Falls Library.
First Night Akron: Tons of activities in Downtown Akron–family-friendly and alcohol-free. Fireworks at 9 p.m. and midnight. Adults purchase badges for $10 each, and kids under 10 are free. Get more info HERE.
Host a party: Lots of our Facebook friends are hosting or attending a party, many of them kid-friendly. We’ll be having friends and their kids over; our party starts late afternoon and usually wraps up around 10! I loved the suggestion by fellow Sister Heather to have a “New Year’s in Rio” party for the kids: midnight in Rio is 9 p.m. here, so you can show the “Rio” movie for the kids, then have a Rio countdown at 9:00, before all the kids get too tired.
If you have other suggestions for family-friendly New Year’s fun, we’d love to hear your ideas in the comments. What are you doing tonight?
