Cooking on a Shoestring: Monday Meal Planning

meal planning

It’s Monday–time to share our dinner-time game plans for the week!  A little effort with meal planning at the beginning of the week helps me to provide my family with nutritious, budget-friendly meals, and also allows me to get my act together when our family’s headed in several different directions.

It’s Back-to-School week for my kids, along with the start of swim team for my daughter, so we’ll be back to juggling schedules and trying to sneak dinner into the equation as best we can!  In one sense, it’s kind of nice to have the stability of a regular schedule…then I look at the schedule and see that it’s a little crazy, and remember what I’m getting myself into! 🙂

Here’s my plan for this week:

Monday:  Labor Day Cookout

Tuesday: Celebrating the first day of school with a take-out pizza picnic between swim team and soccer practices

Wednesday: Christmas Breakfast (because it’s an easy favorite, and because I have a bunch of good bread to use up!)

Thursday: BBQ Boneless Ribs in the Crock Pot, broccoli-cheese rice, green beans

Friday: Grilling steaks for my husband’s birthday, baked potatoes, corn on the cob, and of course Peanut Butter Cup Pie!

Saturday:  Picnic dinner on the boat with friends

Sunday: Honey Garlic Chicken, rice, broccoli
