It’s Monday–time to share our dinner-time game plans for the week! A little effort with meal planning at the beginning of the week helps me to provide my family with nutritious, budget-friendly meals, and also allows me to get my act together when our family’s headed in several different directions.
It’s official…the end-of-the-school-year crazies begin this week! We have our two-practice insanity on Tuesday & Thursday, plus two separate year-end concerts on Wednesday night and bunches of plans during the weekend. I’m also trying to use up what I have in the fridge and freezer, and trying to choose meals that the kids don’t put up much of a fuss about…because I really don’t have time to do the whole “you’ll sit here till you take your no-thank-you bites” routine this week! All that being said, there’s nothing fabulous or gourmet about this week at all, but I think it’s a do-able plan with a fairly high likelihood of keeping us out of the drive-thru. And really, at this point in the year, that’s about all I can ask for! 🙂
Here’s my plan for this week:
Monday: Spaghetti and meatballs, salad, applesauce
Tuesday: Meatball subs, fresh fruit, carrots & dip between practices
Wednesday: Roasted chicken, mashed potatoes & gravy, green beans
Thursday: Picnic dinner: Sandwiches, fruit & veggies between practices
Friday: End-of-the-year carnival at the kids’ school
Saturday: First Communion party for a friend 🙂
Sunday: Hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill, baked sweet potato fries, broccoli
