Cooking on a Shoestring: Monday Meal Planning

Happy Monday, Sisters and Misters!  Time to share our dinner plans for the week.  Meal planning is an important tool for stretching your budget.  Plan around food you have on hand, along with what’s on sale for the week.

Anyone else poultry-ed out??  After three Thanksgiving meals last week and some leftover lunches, we’re ready to change things up a bit this week.  Time to bust out some of the 1/4 cow that’s in the freezer and some flavors from around the world.  What’s on your menu this week?

Monday: Steak on the grill for the grownups, chicken nuggets for the kiddos, baked potatoes, green beans

Tuesday: Spaghetti & meatballs (a big pot–enough to freeze for another meal or two), garlic bread, salad, homemade applesauce

Wednesday: Out to Pizza Hut to redeem the big kids’ Book It certificates 🙂

Thursday: Turkey quesadillas, fresh fruit, veggie (I think I’ll be ready to look at poultry by then!)

Friday: Breakfast for dinner–Sausage gravy and homemade biscuits (yay cheap Bob Evans sausage last week!), scrambled eggs, fresh fruit

Saturday: Sloppy Joes, sweet potato fries, frozen veggie

Sunday: Leftovers if we have them or something quick & easy since we’ll be gone all afternoon and get home in time for supper 🙂

What’s your remedy for turkey fatigue?  Let us know what’s on your meal plan this week in the comments below!
