Cooking on a Shoestring: Monday Meal Planning

Cooking on a Shoestring: Monday Meal Planning

Why do a weekly meal plan?  It can help you use the things you already have in your freezer or pantry, take advantage of sale items, and avoid that evening “what’s for dinner?” panic (and hopefully avoid the temptation of expensive takeout!).

After a weekend of traveling I’m ready to get home and get back to normal cooking (although it was fun to have a few meals off while we were gone!)  Most meals were provided for us this weekend, but we ate out more than usual while we drove–it was nice to know that we didn’t really have to worry about the added expense because it’s more of a rare occurrence than the norm!  Here’s the plan for this week:

Monday: Traveling home from Michigan–dinner on the way

Tuesday: Chicken Stir Fry (with the pre-cut veggies that I froze last week!)

Wednesday: Dinner at church for Family Night

Thursday: Ham slices, cheese potatoes, peas

Friday: Cheese ravioli with marinara sauce, salad, carrot sticks

Saturday:  Dinner with friends–taking Apple Strudel

Sunday: Cheeseburgers, baked french fries, green beans

How about you–what’s your game plan for the week?  Join the conversation in the comments or on Facebook!
