Tuesday Tip: Start off the busy month with a little coupon TLC!

Coupon_Binder_007

Spring is a pretty busy time for all of us!  An organized coupon system will help you make the most of the free moments you have to snag deals for your family.  A ton of coupons just expired yesterday, that means it’s a great time to get your coupon binder (or box, folder, envelope, etc.) organized if it could use a little TLC.

Start by pulling out all your expired coupons.  Remember, you can send your expired coupons to military families overseas to use in their commissaries.

Sort your clipped coupons in the way that makes the most sense to you–I do mine by store category: food, baby items, cleaning supplies, personal care, pet, miscellaneous, etc.  Once they’re sorted, file them in your binder or whatever you store them in.

It’s best to do weekly maintenance when you clip a new set of coupons, but if that doesn’t happen (and realistically some weeks it won’t) at least do a good clean-out after the first of the month when many coupons expire.  It’s easier to find and use what you have if they’re organized, so try to set aside a few minutes each week to pull your old coupons and file the new ones.  Then they’ll be ready and waiting when you want to plan a shopping trip, or if you find something unexpectedly on sale in the store.  You’ll be able to just flip to that category and quickly find the coupon you need.

How do you keep your coupons from getting out of hand?

Make sure you check out all the new printable coupons available today!
