About a little thing called shelf price.
Giant Eagle often has catalinas (OYNO) associated with a certain minimum $$ purchase – last week was the Tombstones deal – this week there’s a slew of them.
SO:
Let’s all flip to our GE ad to page 11 – waiting……..
Look at the top where you see the $4 OYNO wyb $15 of specified Gillette Products
Notice the little GE card in the corner? That means that the item rings up at shelf price (regular price) and then the sale price is deducted from it. So the Satin Care is $2.59 shelf price and the register deducts 59¢
Therefore – $15 (minimum to get $4 OYNO) divided by $2.59 (shelf price) = 6 Satin Cares totaling $15.54
If you were to compare the sale price of $2 – you would need to purchase 8.
Being the teacher I am by profession – let’s compare – I would insert a diagram here if I could:)

6@$2.59 = $15.54 8@$2.59 = $20.72
- 59¢ (6) register deduction = $3.54 - 59¢ (8) register deduction = $4.72
-55¢/1 (6) = $6.60 -55¢/1(8) = $8.80
-$4 OYNO (says health, but…..) -$4 OYNO
FP: 23¢ each FP: 40¢ each
I hope this breaks it down enough. I’ll keep this as a post to refer to. That’s why you always keep a calculator in your binder!

I understand what you posted but GE is saying that they go by sale price not shelf price. Is every GE store different. They confuse me though because the coffe deal went by shelf price the pizza deal went by sale price. I go to the GE at Washington Square in NC. I tried to e mail you but my computer wouldnt let me and I have no e mail address to ask! Also I just wanted to give a little helpful hint, I did some shopping on Wed. this week before GE new add came out. They had everything that was in the flyer (even the pizzas and mentos. They also had kitchen utensils for $0.10 bought 10 to donate to the Women's Shelter. The manager told me sometimes its good to shop the day before the new add comes out because everyone makes the mad ruch when it comes out! Wow did I get the deals with a total of $13.33. The cashier checked my stuff 2 x because she didn't think she rang everything up. Thank you SISTER!!!!
