Welcome to Sisters Shopping on a Shoestring!

A little funny fact that explains a lot – Sisters Shopping on a Shoestring got started unintentionally! With ALL of mysavings and freebies, we have been able to give back thousands of dollars (retail) to local churches, pantries, and charities. This is near and dear to our hearts. It was noticed and we were asked to teach others our money-saving ways. We have spoken to over 5,000 people through our seminars alone!  We believe in taking care of  family first and then taking care of your community! Hence, our logo ~ Save, Shop, Share!! We love seeing and hearing of others paying it forward! In these tough economic times, people are in need. Couponing can help your family and community!

A little about me:

Hi! I’m Sara, of  Sisters Shopping on a Shoestring. My family and I live near Canton, Ohio.  I got started with couponing out of necessity. After years of infertility treatments, my husband and I were blessed with Mia through invitro-fertilization. I wanted to take a year off and stay home with her and keep up with our lifestyle.  Coupons afforded me that.  A year later, Meghan was conceived – NATURALLY! Yeah, our surprise! So, I tightened the reigns even more and began to coupon seriously. It has since become a lifestyle.  Now that I’m back to work, coupons are helping me attain my new goal to be debt-free and be able to afford my girls a college education.

I have been married to my best friend, Jim, for 12 years. I am a  mother of two little girls, ages 4 and 2.  By day, I am a sixth grade Special Education teacher. I am in my 14th year of teaching. I have a Bachelors, Masters, and am all-but-dissertation for my PhD.

After the daily grind of life, I blog after the kids are down, the hubby is plugged into the TV and our two dogs are snuggled up against my feet. I have come to love the relationship with my fellow Sister and Mister Shoestring Shoppers and consider many of you extended family.

I couldn't do this alone...........Thanks to fellow Sister, Megan!

My name is Megan, and I'm excited for the opportunity to work with Sara and help bring you deals and save you money.  I'm a former second grade teacher who has been home with my growing family for the past six years.  That family includes my husband and four kids: my 6 1/2-year-old daughter and three boys, ages 1, 3, and almost 5.  If you see a lady in the grocery store with a big blue binder and four kids in and around the race-car shopping cart asking if it's time for their bakery cookie, it's probably me!

I have always used coupons, but started getting more serious about it when we went down to one income in the family.  In the past few years, the income has remained steady while my kids' appetites (and our grocery budget!) have grown steadily, so couponing and deal seeking have become part of my weekly routine.  I also try to use my couponing time and energy to purchase items to donate for little to no out-of-pocket cost.  I was recently able to donate about $150 worth of health and beauty items, and had paid about 10% of their value, thanks to this website.  I'm thankful to be able to help others while still staying within my budget.

We have spoken to over 8,000 people collectively through various venues including:

*Church Families
* Universities
* Nonprofit Groups/Libraries
* Hospitals

I love to give back to the community!
Here's a list of our Donation Locations!
All You can be purchased through a magazine fundraising site - all proceeds go to local charities!
Through this alone, readers have helped allocate nearly $5,000!

I got this email from Destination Maternity…it only good for today. You can get a free nursing cover up, baby sling, and nursing pads.

It’s as easy as 1-2-3!

1. Go to SevenSlings.com and/or UdderCovers.com.
2. Click on “Shop Now” and select any baby carrier, nursing cover or breast pads you like.
3. Once you have made your selection, you’ll automatically be directed to the shopping bag.
Enter the promo code” DESTINATION ” and both companies have agreed to deduct 100% of
the cost of the carrier or nursing cover – all you pay are the shipping fees!

Remember: the promo code is” DESTINATION ” and you can order all 3 offers – just open a new browser window each time you do.

Feel free to pass this promotion on to your friends!

I read on your site I think that the Canton Repository has all the coupons
Available in this area. I live in Salem and have driven on a Sunday to the
Far side of Alliance closest to Canton and was disappointed that it didn’t have
All the coupon inserts that it should have. What can I do? Where can you buy a paper and get the coupons without driving all the way into the cuty?
